Our mission is to provide a first-class outdoor swimming facility that makes a positive contribution both to the community, and to the Health and Wellbeing of the residents of Woburn and the surrounding areas. Not only are we committed to improving Health and Wellbeing, but we are also working towards a comprehensive programme in order to get more children and young adults involved with swimming.
Woburn Lido was given to the people of Woburn in 1911 as a gift from His Grace the Duke of Bedford. Since then it has been a popular summer attraction for the residents of Woburn and the surrounding villages. It was most recently renovated in 2015 when the new kiosk and changing facilities were built. The pool itself still conforms to the same dimensions as it did in 1911 and thus is 23 metres (25 yards) long and 9 metres (10 yards) wide .
The Lido has been a feature of Woburn for over 100 years. We understand that not only is it a local attraction for residents of nearby villages, but it is also an iconic piece of history that symbolises a meeting place for the people of Woburn.
