We are affiliated Lifesaving Club licensed by the Royal Life Saving Society UK (RLSS UK).
With a rich history spanning 50 years, our club has been dedicated to providing lifesaving awards and qualifications to the Droylsden community and surrounding areas. We're also proud members of the Active Tameside Sport & Physical Activity Network.
Our club is run by a passionate volunteers, who are committed to the development and support the club. As we look to the future, we're excited to invite new members to join our family and help shape the direction of our club. Established in 1971 and affiliated with RLSS UK in 1974, we have been a key part of our community for decades.
The lifesaving Club is currently based at Active Medlock in Droylsden, a fantastic facility operated by Active Tameside. They strive to provide outstanding leisure facilities while promoting the well-being of the community. Their well-being project not only enriches the lives of our users but also encourages a healthier and more active lifestyle.
At Droylsden Life Saving Club, we offer a range of RLSS UK courses and activities suitable for all ages, including:
- Rookie Lifeguard (8-12 year olds)
- National Lifesaving Academy (12 year olds and over - yes, even adults)
- NPLQ and OWL courses for club members
- RLSS UK Instructor Training
Our continuous courses allow you to join our club at any time throughout the year. We will professionally train you for an appropriate award and assess your progress once you are ready.
