Open Water Lifeguard (OWL) Qualification
Open water swimming is one of the fastest-growing sports in the UK. The OWL qualification has been specifically designed to equip Open Water Lifeguards with the skills required to supervise and provide rescue cover for planned, organised and risk assessed activities in still or non-tidal water.

The OWL course requires a minimum of 18 hours of training followed by a practical assessment.

Course Content:
There are three sections to the course, and a candidate must pass all three to attain the qualification.
Section 1 – The Open Water Lifeguard, environment, hazards and supervision
Section 2 – Responding to an emergency and taking action
Section 3 – CPR and First Aid
This an OWL course for new candidates
The theory/first aid elements of the course will be held at Catford Wanderers Sports Club, Beckenham Hill Rd, London SE6 3NU, there is free onsite parking.
The practical elements of the course will be held at the lake in Beckenham Place Park. Paid parking is available on site however there may be free parking available on surrounding streets.
There are no changing facilities or showers available on site.
Hot drinks available as part of the course, please bring you own lunch.

Sanitiser and other PPE (gloves & face masks) will be provided as required.
If you have a current National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ), you would only need to do an 8 hour bolt-on course. If you are interested in gaining the OWL qualification, please contact me for more information.
